Hi guys. I'm back. Just thought I would wite an article on Pho Hoa, The "Health Conscious Choice".
Pho Hoa is very popular because it has built a name for itself over the years and has many locations in Canada, the US, and Asia. It is super convenient as it is open 24/7. It is also a franchise. Every Pho Hoa is owned by a different person.(Some might own 2, but you get what I mean) They are franchised. Just like Professionails Nail Salon. Same idea.
So let's get down to the down and dirty. If you're Vietnamese (like me) Pho Hoa is the last place you would go for lunch. In the Vietnamese community we don't like Pho Hoa's. They mostly cater to non-Vietnamese. We only come when nothing else is open and when we're super hungry.
There is one Pho Hoa in Surrey on 104 Avenue and 144th St next to Henlong supermarket. They actually had an article written about them in the Vietnamese newspaper a couple years because their restaurant was unsanitary/ dirty etc. I avoid going there as much as possible because of this. Another reason why I avoid going there is because of their price. It's usually $2-$3 more for a bowl of Pho than your family run businesses & it doesn't taste as good. To me it actually doesn't taste good at all. Rice here is okay though. When it's 2am and you just came back from partying and you're hungry Pho Hoa is okay to eat and better than Mc Donald's. I would say avoid the Surrey Pho Hoa if you can, and the one on Nanaimo and Kingsway. The Pho Hoa's on Kingsway & near royal oak, and the location in Richmond on Alderbridge & kwantlen are okay. Go there if you most utterly HAVE to.
Rating: 2 out of 5 Stars
The reason I give them 2 stars is because they're not ALL bad. The one in Richmond does look better (decor & cleanliness), and also taste a teeny weeny bit better.
Follow me please ! :)
